2004 House Elections: State Results

Republicans came out of the 2004 election holding 232 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. The GOP total is the highest number that the party has held after any election since 1946.

The district-by-district official election results show the number of votes recorded in each race, votes recorded for the major parties, and vote percentages as well as state totals. The state total vote results below do not include the vote from a handful of House districts around the country where there was only one candidate on the ballot and no votes were tallied. The totals reflect the voting in the Nov. 2 general election. The seat winner is listed next to the district number. An asterisk (*) denotes an incumbent.
