CQ Press Offers Customers Replacements for Books Lost to Katrina

The people at CQ Press are deeply saddened by the tremendous loss that followed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Our hearts go out to those who are grieving for loved ones, who have had their lives uprooted, and who have lost their homes, communities, and jobs.

As the full extent of the damage becomes clear, we know that among the losses will be ruined library and book collections. News on the state of libraries is grim, and with each new day, the magnitude of the loss grows. As part of our commitment to librarians, students, professors, and professionals, CQ Press stands ready to help our customers recover.

In an effort to help our customers restore their collections, we will replace, where feasible, all CQ Press books and journals lost in the storm. For those who have lost their records, we will work with you to identify the books you lost and will replace them with the same or similar works.

When you are ready to replace your CQ Press books and journals, please contact our customer service department, which can be reached toll-free at 1-866-4CQ-PRESS (866-427-7737).

In addition to offering direct help to our customers, CQ Press and our sister company, Congressional Quarterly, raised over $32,000 in employee and company contributions to the Red Cross. We also conducted a clothing drive to aid Katrina’s victims in Texas and shipped 155 large boxes of new and nearly new clothes to evacuees based in Houston. In addition, we shipped 125 cases of bottled water to the Gulf Coast during the early stages of the recovery.
