Tom Arrandale is a freelance writer in Livingston, Mont., reporting on environmental, natural resource and wildlife issues. He is a columnist for Congressional Quarterly's Governing magazine and has written for Planning Magazine, High Country News and Yellowstone Journal. He authored The Battle for Natural Resources (CQ Press, 1983). He serves on the Livingston Historic Preservation Commission and Board of Adjustment. He visits Yellowstone National Park regularly to hike, snowshoe and photograph wildlife. He graduated from Dartmouth College with a history degree and from the University of Missouri with a master's degree in journalism.
