Returns policies and procedures
Terms and conditions - all customers
Defective, damaged, or otherwise unsaleable books, incorrect shipments, and mistaken orders must be returned within thirty days. Returns will not be accepted for books that have been out of print for six months or more.
Individual, corporate, and library customers
Books in undamaged and saleable condition may be returned within thirty days.
College bookstores
Books in undamaged and saleable condition in their original and/or unopened sealed condition may be returned between three and fifteen months from the invoice date. Returns are subject to the limitations in effect when products were purchased. CQ Press Custom Books may be returned no earlier than 3 months and no more than 6 months from the invoice date, provided the returns do not exceed 10 percent of the gross orders on that invoice. Returns due to course cancellation must be accompanied by official documentation from the school verifying the cancellation, and must be returned within 60 days of course cancellation in order to receive credit for 100% of the return.
Trade/retail bookstores
Books (other than Staff Directories) in undamaged and saleable condition may be returned between three and fifteen months from the invoice date. Staff Directories in undamaged and saleable condition may be returned within ninety days.
Wholesalers and subscription agencies
Books (other than Staff Directories) in undamaged and saleable condition may be returned between threee and fifteen months from the invoice date. Staff Directories in undamaged and saleable condition may be returned within ninety days.
Out of print notices will appear in appropriate trade publications and/or on the CQ Press website.
Returns procedures
Permission is not required to return books that meet the above terms and conditions. Returns not complying will be reshipped, and additional shipping and handling expenses will be charged.
All returns must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice or must reference the invoice number. Returns will not be accepted without the original invoice reference.
Please take care when returning books to CQ Press. We will not accept any returns that have been damaged in shipping. CQ Press strongly advises using packaging materials that are UPS-approved.
